Dr. Wang began the initiative in collaboration with the talented Italian artist and breathwork coach Niko Cutugno Lancia — the only child of the legendary Italian singer-songwriter Toto Cutugno. Bonded by the "universe's unknown forces", and a deep, almost instinctive love for the healing power of water — the oceans, the sea (“il mare,” as it’s called in Italian) — the project was born. This initiative not only supports trauma-informed research and development of integrative natural healing methodologies, but also implements trauma-informed, actionable, community-based programs to bring these practices directly to those in need.
Also in loving tribute to the enduring legacy of Toto Cutugno (whose life was taken by prostate cancer) and in celebration of his music that continues to unite us, this initiative carries forward his spirit of connection — using the healing arts, just as Toto used his melody, to bring people together across cultures, borders, and generations. In Toto’s endless references to il mare — the sea — in his songs, love, dreams, and peace became waves that bound people, borderless, and timeless in its embrace.
In many traditional cultures, water — one of the sacred elements of nature — is revered for its profound healing power. Though Niko and Dr Wang's worlds were vast oceans apart, they both found in water element a teacher: water symbolized not only calm yet powerful, yielding yet persistent, nourishing and forgiving, but also the power to connect distant cultures and practices into one unified stream of purpose. Water guided not only their personal healing paths but also their shared desire to give back.
This philanthropic effort unites experienced trauma-informed natural medicine practitioners in a collaborative effort to support vulnerable and underserved populations with accessible, evidence-informed, culturally sensitive wellness guidance and education, through workshops, personalized consultations, joint methodology development, and community outreach. These natural modalities include — but are not limited to — the integrated use of acupressure, acupuncture, breath work, nutrition, somatic movement (such as Tai Chi, yoga, and Qigong), forest bathing, cranial-sacral therapy, herbal medicine, chiropractic and osteopathic care, ayurvedic medicine, naturopathy, massage therapy, hypnotherapy, aroma therapy and meditation. The program is designed to support individuals facing some of life’s most pressing challenges, including stress management, trauma recovery, addiction, dietary issues due to food insecurity, injury rehabilitation, suicide prevention, and more.
By blending time-honored wisdom with contemporary application, the initiative empowers individuals and communities to access holistic tools for healing, resilience, and lasting well-being. By promoting preventive care and empowering individuals to take an active role in their health, it aims to reduce barriers to wellness and complement existing healthcare efforts. This initiative is rooted in the belief that holistic well-being and access to natural healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
Interested trauma-informed practitioners are encouraged to collaborate, develop joint methodologies through their robust private practices, and offer their gifts to people worldwide, channeling the spirit of water- gentle, powerful and endlessly giving. Practitioners, organizations or individuals who are interested are kindly invited to please text 2067929898.

"Be like water, making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will reveal themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be like water, my friend.”
像水一样吧,我的朋友
